Mostly because it is fun to say, but also because it has been a destination on my bucket list for years! I am a small town, coastal girl so I love to visit iconic coastal towns (especially on the east coast). It was a quick trip, but I am really happy with how the time was spent. PRO TIP: If you want to see the entire island, I highly suggest using the Turo app to rent a car from a local. It was way more affordable than bringing a car or renting from the airport. Well, “everything is more expensive in Nantucket”. But hey, no regrets and I would do it again. I think I want to go during the Holidays next! Keep reading to learn more about my favorite spots in ACK! Where I Stayed: Life House Nantucket I was thrilled with my stay at Life House! First impression was how cozy is smelled. I even ended up snagging their signature candle before leaving. The staff was lovely and I loved the quirky charm of the old home turned hotel. It was also a fabulous location with a quick walk to town. Where I Shopped: Space I love a shop that has a little bit of old, a little bit of new, but all beautifully curated. This shop is in the little harbor side spaces and had a stunning selection antiques, art, home goods, accessories and clothing. I ended up buying a vintage door knocker to store in my hope chest for a future home. (it’s called ✨manifesting✨) Bon Ton Now, this shop was all oldies but goodies. The owner was the sweetest and the had the best selection of antiques! They have zero digital footprint but you can find it next to the Nautilus. Erica Wilson This shop was a needlepoint lovers dream. Half of the store was a chic clothing store, but I was more interested in the needlepoint canvases. I have continued to order their canvases online and they have surprisingly quick shipping! Atlantic We popped into this shop before dinner one night and were blown away by the beautiful selection of clothing, home goods, and accessories. I am still thinking about the salad bowl I left behind! Where I Ate: Straight Wharf Fish I had a religious experience with a bowl of tuna tartare at this restaurant… They also had the best fried clams I have ever had. This open air, casual spot is right next to the ferry and looks over the harbor. It was a great first impression of the fresh seafood to come. Sister Ship This was the “fanciest” spot we hit during our time on the island and that’s saying something! The island is very casual which I loved and reminded me a lot of Annapolis living. I loved the indoor/outdoor dining of Sister Ship and the salads and deserts were incredible! 167 Raw I am a huge seafood lover so I was excited to try some fresh seafood spots and this food truck did not disappoint. Here, I had the best warm lobster roll and guac I have ever had. Rothys Face Mask This is one of the most comfortable masks I have found breathing-wise. It has a very structured shape so it doesn’t end up touching your mouth at all. It’s this super cool knit material so it looks really nice (for a mask) too! My ONLY complaint is that the ear straps are so so so tight on me so I can only wear this one for a short time. Vetiver and Sage by Illume Honestly I am a fan of the entire “Elemental” collection from Illume but the Vetiver Sage is my top pick. I’ve also used the room sprays from this line and they’re great if you’re looking for a non-toxic room spray alternative. The Vetiver Sage is clean and herbal and smells of bergamot, clary sage, and vetiver. Pepper and Oak by Paddywax This scent is very sexy, heavy (in a good way) and woodsy. If you like masculine scents, this one’s for you! It has notes of black pepper, eucalyptus, and teakwood and is a freakin dream. Salt and Sage by Paddywax Can you tell I am obsessed with Paddywax? They’re non-toxic, affordable, high quality, and can be found at your local Whole Foods. I don’t think I’ve ever left a Whole Foods without picking up a Paddywax candle. This one is very similar to the Bamboo and Green Tea scent because they’re both very clean and fresh. But the Salt and Sage candle has that saltiness added making it a punchier scent! Coco Sienna by MISHAL I discovered this small business last year and purchased the fragrance oil in this scent, some candles and some incense cones. Her scents are rich and long-lasting, but not overpowering! The Coco Sienna smells of mahogany, coconut, vanilla, and sandalwood. It’s my #1 recommendation I give to people when they ask for a natural deodorant. I have used both the Eucalyptus and Sandalwood scent and can’t decide which I love more. The packaging is mess free and totally recyclable and the actual product is a perfect consistency. Not too thick, not too wet. Lots of other natural deodorants get foamy and gross throughout the day and I have never had that issue with this one! Maison Louis Marie: Maison Louis Marie is a clean fragrance and candle company. I had the candle in this scent and LOVED IT. When I saw that they had a deodorant in the same scent I was like well shoot gotta try it. LOVE THIS TOO. It is probably the longest lasting natural deodorant I’ve tried. Way Of Will: So here is the thing about natural deodorants…. because they're not filled with scary ingredients like lead, aluminum and plastic, their lasting power isn't on the same level as a regular deodorant, so you may need to reapply. I love this spray for that. It’s a great, mess free way to top off throughout the day and the smell is DEVINE. I pick mine up from Whole Foods and it’s like $10. Kopari CBD Deodorant: I’ve been using this one for years and have gotten a few of my friends hooked on this one as well. The smell is super herbal and earthy which I love and the CBD is gentle on sensitive underarms like mine. The only thing I don't live for is that the packaging can be a little stiff and hard to roll up. Kosas Sport Deodorant: So I have a love hate relationship with this one. The actual product is one of the best formulas I have found. It smells like a freakin spa, has amazing lasting power and actually helps with sweat a bit too. But the packaging is a BITCH to work with. It’s a squeeze tube with a roller ball and you have to really work to get it out. But once its on your pits you’re good to go! I am always drawn to tinted moisturizers, but when I saw that this product is marketed as lightweight and packed with skin-loving ingredients, I wanted to branch out and give it a try, and I am so glad I did. It is literally a tinted moisturizer in stick form. I have it here in the shades Sand and Amber. Sand for all over the face, and Amber for my temples and cheekbones for added warmth. I also snagged the blending brush for the full Merit experience.
