Boujee, luxury, clean beauty and skincare is my weakness. But when it comes to my in shower hair care, I thought I’d test out some affordable, clean lines that I’ve never tried before. I stumbled across this new company called Headquarters on Instagram and was intrigued. They focus on scalp health and create routines around your scalps needs because they believe that healthy, happy hair starts at your scalp. The entire set is less than $30….. the shampoo I was using previously was $30 alone….. So before I get into each product in the oily set, I should explain my hair type. I have a VERY oily scalp. Like I need to use dry shampoo daily. My hair starts producing oil as soon as it starts drying out of the shower. I know, I know, people always say you can train your hair to produce less oil by washing it less but honestly, showering is an important part of my daily self care routine, and I look forward to it everyday. My hair is pretty fine but I have a lot of it and when it air dries, it can have a fair amount of frizz. So, now that we have that settled, if you’d like to know if the Headquarters Oily Routine is #homebodyapproved, keep reading!

Exfoliating Scrub

First of all, this whole line smells like a dream. It has a grapefruit and basil scent that is light and clean. I am a stickler for scents, and this scent alone is #homebodyapproved. The scrub however, I could do without. I was super excited to try this but I found it very difficult to use. The texture doesn’t allow the product to spread onto your scalp. It just kind of balls up and falls on the shower floor.

Cleansing Shampoo

I really like this shampoo! The scent is dreamy, the bottle is easy to get the product out, and over all it does what a shampoo should do, and that’s make your hair feel fresh and clean. I will say, it does not suds up a lot so keep that in mind if you try it out!

Hydrating Conditioner

I also loved the conditioner. Sometimes “hydrating” scares me when it comes to my hair and scalp. Hydration doesn’t seem to be an issue for me and I get concerned it’ll just make my hair extra oily, but nope! This worked like a charm. It left my hair feeling soft and bouncy.

Nourishing Mist

This product really surprised me. I honestly thought I wouldn’t end up reaching for this at all. After the shower I use the Crown Affair hair oil on my ends so I thought the two products together would make my hair look dirty but WOAH was I wrong. I spray this on my roots fresh out the shower and massage it in. It feels kind of soapy so that scared me but just trust the process. I then wrap my hair in the Crown Affair hair towel while I do my skincare so that the towel can soak up excess moisture and product. After I take my hair out of the towel, I brush my hair, add the oil and my ends and I am good to go. This mist somehow makes my hair voluminous, clean, and bouncy. I even tried to not use it a few times and I can see a visible difference in how quickly my hair gets oily. Not sure how it does it, but it keeps the oil at bay and I have been using way less dry shampoo since using this spray daily.

Overall, I am very happy with my Headquarters experience. I will be skipping the scrub in the future. But luckily, the products are all available separately, so I will be able to purchase the shampoo, conditioner, and mist (which are all #homebodyapproved) again!
