Things That Give Me Serotonin AKA My Feb Favorites
I like to consider myself as a minimalist. But a minimalist who likes stuff. And I am kind of embarrassed to admit that stuff does bring me joy. Well at least some stuff. So I thought I would start sharing the things throughout the month that bring me joy in the hope that you will find it joyful as well! Some things are random, some things are straight-up essentials, but it is all #homebodyapproved.
Lou & Grey Sweatpants: Not all sweatpants are created equal. And these are the superior sweatpant. Holy comfy, you guys need to feel these. They are truly the softest material ever. They’re unisex and they run large so I’d say go down a size.
Birkenstock Zermatt Slippers: Yea, you guys need these too. Work shoes are no longer a thing for most of us so slippers are part of our daily wardrobes. But as a certified homebody, I don’t hate it. I got these for my mom for xmas and then immediately ordered myself a pair. They’re the unmatched support of a Birkenstock with the comfort of a slipper.
Shani Darden Eye Cream: My under eye bags are one of my biggest insecurities. I feel like I always looked tired, even when that wasn’t the case. I sleep like it’s my job. I’ve tried several eye creams and that were great with hydrating my dry under eyes, but they didn’t really target puffiness. Until I tried this one. IT’S AMAZING. It’s hydrating, tones down my puffiness and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I always overlooked Shani Darden because she wasn’t included in the Clean At Sephora section but I looked her products up on EWG and she gets great reviews. I’m sure she’ll be moved to the Clean section at Sephora any day now. I will say that this doesn’t play the best under makeup so keep that in mind, but I LOVE IT for my night routine!
Mejuri Gold Mini Hoops: Nowadays unless I venture out into the world or have a Zoom meeting I look like a troll. But a troll with cute earrings. I’m really not putting on makeup unless I have to, so putting on some cute dainty jewelry makes me feel more put together. I also love that these are designed so that the backing of the earring doesn’t stab me in the jugular.
Saie Sunvisor Sunscreen: I have been on the HUNT for a sunscreen that is hydrating, doesn’t leave a white cast, doesn’t irritate my skin and has clean ingredients. I FOUND HER!! This stuff is great. I ALWAYS wear sunscreen when I am out in the sun but I am trying to be better about wearing it on a daily basis and this makes me want to put it on. It leaves a slight glow on the skin so it’s great for no makeup days (aka most days) but it also layers well with my makeup products.
Crown Affair Hair Oil: You guys may have seen my review about this on Instagram but it’s so good I have to give it another shout out! My hair is on the oily side but if I don’t apply any product it is way too frizzy. This stuff is great because it reduces frizz, protects from heat, and adds shine. I focus it on the ends so my roots don’t get oily even faster. Bonus points for smelling like a damn dream!
Cushion Lab Seat Cushion: Told you there were some randos in the mix! For a lot of us, our kitchen tables and vanities have become our home office. And those chairs are just not meant to be sat in for hours on end. I didn’t want to get a full-on office chair, so when I saw these on Goop, I snagged some for my mom and I. I got us both the back and butt pillows and they’re great! Cushion Lab is a small eco-friendly company who believe in “enhancing your comfort and bettering the planet”.
